First meeting of the Knowledge City CLUB

On February 2, 2024, the Cluster Sofia Knowledge City launched a new initiative - Knowledge City CLUB. The club organizes meetings in an informal setting for the exchange of information, discussions and mutual acquaintance with the participation of guests whose public or business position can have a significant impact on turning knowledge into an asset for the sustainable development of the city of Sofia.

The first meeting of the club was held at the BARTER Community Hub, a pleasant place for informal meetings on the roof of the Vitosha business center.

Thus, the main goal of the cluster to create an environment for cooperation between business, science, education and local government, which will stimulate the development of the city as a city of knowledge, is actually fulfilled.

The meeting was attended by representatives of our members, including Kontrax, Ciela Norma, David Holding, ULSIT University, RISK Electronics, KISMC, Europerspectives Foundation, Valkrea.House, Info Group, etc., as well as guests from partner organizations, including Sofia Investment Agency, Innovative Sofia, Council on investments at BCCI, Bulgarian Chamber of Mechanical Engineering and Taiwan Trade Center-Sofia.

Also present were many advisors and friends of the cluster such as Deyan Pushkarov, Magdalena Ivanova, Plamen Dimitrov, Deyan Doikov, Boyan Zhekov, Dimitar Kokalanov, Elena Krastenova, Milen Markov and others. The first guest of the club was Mr. Ivan Goichev, Deputy Mayor for Digitization, Innovation and Economic Development of the Metropolitan Municipality.

In friendly conversations and new acquaintances, our expectation was confirmed that in the era of open access and the sharing economy, knowledge about a city is born in an appropriate communication environment by sharing a vision and practices that otherwise remain closed or inactive for the development of the city.

During the meeting, we had the opportunity to get acquainted with the art of our respected colleagues Dr. Pavlina Mihailova (poetry) and arch. Belin Mollov (painting)!!
