Participation in Europe, let's cooperate! 2024
Cluster Sofia Knowledge City took part in the tenth edition of the interregional cooperation forum "Europe, let's cooperate" (#europecooperates), which took place on March 20-21, 2024 in Antwerp, Belgium. This Interreg event was joined by cluster representatives Dimitar Filipov - member of the Board, Vihra Andonova - Chairman of the Control Committee and Krum Dimitrov - marketing and digitization intern working for the cluster. The event was organized on the occasion of the launch of a new call for project proposals and the inclusion of new countries in the Interreg Europe program such as Serbia, Macedonia, Ukraine, etc.
More than 600 representatives of European and newly joined countries interested in interregional cooperation took part.
Excellent opportunities were created to discuss project ideas with representatives of the joint secretariat and to network to build project partnerships. An area was organized to share information and experience from the projects co-financed in the previous call for interregional cooperation. Individual meetings with experts and consultants on specific project proposals were also organized.
Also inspiring was the visit organized by the hosts to existing sites in and around Antwerp with good practices from past projects, such as the port of Antwerp-Bruges, Circuit, a circular playground for anyone who wants to live sustainably, animated by Kringwinkel Antwerp, and the result of the Recapture the Fortress Cities project in Antwerp, which enables a virtual journey between the past, present and future of Fort Lillo.
As a result of this participation, the representatives of the cluster received and shared with the members of the cluster a better idea of the possibilities of this program and of the benefits of applying for a project aimed at the development of the city of Sofia.
