Smart City Expo World Congress is approaching

We inform the members and friends of the Cluster Sofia Knowledge City that it is time to make a decision to visit the largest and most influential event in the world for urban innovation - the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), which will be held from 5 to 7 November 2024. SCEWC is the leading international event for cities and smart urban solutions, organized by Fira de Barcelona every year. This year will be the biggest edition of this event to date. Under the theme "Live Better", the exhibition and convention will have a 30% increase in exhibition space compared to the previous record-breaking event, which took place in 2023. 

The exhibition is expected to host 1,100 exhibitors, 850 cities and over 25,000 visitors.

The event will focus on strategies to transform current metropolises into more sustainable, efficient and livable spaces, bringing together leading companies from around the world to showcase the latest solutions and technologies enabling cities to become more efficient in areas such as mobility, public services, utilities, citizen engagement and sustainability.

In this direction, SCEWC will gather over 600 speakers and international experts at its congress to share the latest experiences and achievements in urban transformation in a conference program structured around eight main areas: Enabling Technologies, Energy and Environment, Mobility, Governance, Life and Inclusion, Economy, Infrastructure and Buildings and Safety and Security.

For the past few years, the cluster and its members have been participating in the exhibition and its accompanying events. And this year we will send our representative in the person of Dimitar Kokalanov, our cluster coordinator. Its mission will be to get to know and to inform us about the most interesting achievements of urban technologies and their possibilities to change the processes of management and urban development of cities, as well as to create new contacts with international partners suitable for the cluster.

Members who are open to internationalization even without being exhibitors will benefit from attending this event as it is a source of information, contacts and business ideas at a global level applicable to our market.
